I sat the 4 day train the trainer course and have the certificate etc. Now a friend has asked me to conduct some basic training in their place of work, something I'm looking forward to, but am I now qualified to train outsiders, and if so, would it be appropriate to draw up some form of certificate for their records? (or is there somewhere you can purchase certificate formats? I've googled but to no real avail)
Regards
Phil

Use Microsoft publisher. It can be put onto Word with a bit of fiddling and then kept as a permanent record, printed out as a page with say 6 mini certificates, or as standard certificates.

Use paperdirect.co.uk
The have loads of pre-printed a4 certificate blanks - great to zip though your own printer. The results are very impressive

If you decide to do your own, make sure that any background you use (to make the certificates look like parchment, for example) bleeds off if it is to look authentic.

Phil,
Welcome to the world of training...Enjoy it, it's damned rewarding!
And in terms of certificates, in my opinion, delegates do like something to take away with them, in addition to their new found knowledge and skill.
Take care!

Thanks again G. Well, it will be my first time, so I'm slightly nervous to say the least. Thank goodness for fellow danger men like yourself and forums like these.
All the very best,
Phil.

Phil,
We all get nervous! As a young Actor once said to Lord Olivier... Why is it Sir, on stage, you don't get nervous, I always have butterflies in my stomach?
He replied, 'My Boy, I get those same butterflies, it's just that I have taught them to fly in formation'!
Take care!

Phil, just a quickie regards your certificates, make sure you word them certificates of attendance and not certificates of competence. giving people certificates of competence can open another can of worms if things went pear shaped.
If I am stating the obvious, my apologies

I was aware of that Steve but appreciate your help though. I look forward to the day when I can be the one giving advice.
Kind regards again,

Hi Phil
To cover your back (excuse the pun) make a list of all students names and get them to sign to say that they are fit to take part in the training then there can be no come back also ensure you insurance covers you to teach it.
Good luck
