I'm visiting Tasmania during November, and wonder if there are any safety people from there who would be happy for me to drop by?
Also to give a few tips on November weather - I always seem to pack the wrong stuff... I'm told only the locals can give an authoritative view of the weather as it's nothing like mainland Oz.

Allan,
Yes, there are people in Tasmania. (Not me, tho.)
Try contacting the Safety Institute of Australia. They have a website - www.sia.org.au, I think.
Weather in November could be anything.

Allan,
Last week there were bushfires within Hobart in 30+ cegrees temperatures. Last night frost wiped out half the state's fruit crop.
Come ready for anything.
I would think you could get a welcome in Victoria, if you're passing through.
John.
