Does anyone know if you can buy hi-viz vests without the reflective strips? I know a standard hi-viz vest comes complete with reflective strips but the strips play havoc with the magic eyes on our production lines any help will be greatfully accepted.

High viz reflective strips form part of the BS EN 471, hi viz jackets would also require to have the CE marking. If the jackets do not have the strips, they will likely not comply with the BS or be CE marked.
Providing high viz jackets not conforming to the standard could leave avenues for prosecution / litigation as you have obviously assessed there being a risk and requirement for hi vis to be worn.
http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/apis1.htm#2 has lots of good hi vis info.
why are you using high viz on your production lines? Do you have issues with lighting levels? Conflicts of vehicles and workers?

As far as i know the BS to which hi-vis are made require the reflective strips. A diiferent percentage depending on the specific standard.
However you can get t-shirts, polo shirts and sweaters in day glo colours as an alternative.
