Hi
Has anyone out there in waterworld got any procedures for purging sewage sludge digesters with nitrogen prior to decommissioning for maintenance?
Any info much appreciated.

Bill,
Lots of expertise in use of nitrogen inerting of tanks in the petrochemical industry.
I'm curious. Nitrogen is usually used to create an inert atmosphere in preparation for welding. But it produces an asphyxiating environment, so doesn't prepare the tank for entry of personnel.
Why do you need to use nitrogen?

Hi
Yes to remove flammable gas such as methane and toxics such as H2S.
It's a common process in sewage works so i though someone out there may have some info. We have a procedure but i want to review it and make sure it's up to date.
