Posted By ian My brother in law has just passed his class two and is desperate to join a company, large or small to get into driveing class 2 trucks. As he has only just passed his test a few weeks ago it seems to be a struggle finding a job. When the guy has paid for it himself it's like a kick in the nuts when They all want 2 years experiance! We all have to start somewhere, I remember years ago when i done my class 2 it was the same but i found a tiny company to get me started, then moved up to class 1 ADR doing tankers, some people ain't so lucky. Cut to the chase ah? Dose anyone know of companies that will look at this guy?? he's in his 40s trustworthy as he fixes cash point machines, so he has thousands of pounds in his mits every day. (what a job ah?) he lives near Worksop and don't mind doing a night or two out, I think he wants to try to start by night trunk to get used to the idea of driving something bigger that his transit van. Me personally would just take phone numbers of trucks class 1 and 2 and call the lot. but he ain't like that. (yet!) Well if anyone can help or give him any information here's his email.(with his permission i might add) ha ha johnstamp@hotmail.com

Posted By FiNgAz u can say that again ha ha. seems the north east is harder o get work for class 2 than anywhere else. unless he dose his class 1 but cant afford it straight away. then he's still in the catch 22 position ah. Suppose something will turn up just a waiting game and a case of knocking all the doors he can.

Posted By RP It is often the case that the only way in is to sign up with an agency and get the experience

Posted By FiNgAz This is true but i don't think he trusts agency's as he's heard some bad reports from people that say they mess your wages up. I dont know because i never used one, but also heard the same rumor. The thing is even if they do they still have to put it right, just a bit of inconvenience in your wages now and then, as we get from work anyway.

Posted By Peter Leese You need to watch yourself, talking in the third person! Remember 'Magic'? Then again, I may get more sense out of me talking to me.............

Posted By FiNgAz Yes i know and i do deal with h&s myself. I deal with chemicals of all descriptions every day from chlorine to water. so i have to be aware of all the risks/health & safety myself. I do understand what this forum is about but at the same time i like the thought of being (slightly helpful) not ignorant or sarcastic like the idiot Peter whats his face! And the fact i use 2 names is nothing to do with anyone. I don't hide the fact Fingaz is a nick name and Ian is my real name so thanks for your time too.

Posted By Peter Leese Moderator, I don't have a problem with this. It's real life, and perhaps some of the forum members would benefit from more of it!
