The IoD is working with the Health and Safety Executive to revise the current official guidance on directors' health and safety responsibilities. As part of this a free to attend half-day consultative seminar will take place on October 26 at 116 Pall Mall. It will run from 09.30 until 13.15, when there will be a networking buffet lunch. There will be no charge to attend.
The IoD has convened a steering group to take this forward. The Steering Group is made up of representatives of business, the public and voluntary sectors, plus occupational health and safety. As part of its work the October 26 seminar will gather stakeholder views on how the new guidance might shape up.
Should you wish to attend this event then please register using the online registration form on the website at www.iod.com/policy in the how can I get involved section Alternatively you can contact Kathryn Allix in the Policy Unit.
Having looked at the speakers etc, RoSPA are there but there does not appear to be any IOSH representation.
My question is, are IOSH being represented in these consultations or are we missing an opportunity?

I am pleased to confirm that IOSH has been a key player in these evolving discussions for several months now and our Director of Technical Affairs, Richard Jones, sits on the joint working party mentioned in this posting. In fact, a lengthy position document produced by IOSH earlier this year has been provided to all the working party members as part of the initial briefing pack.
