Hi all,
In a residential complex,
1- Are there any ideas about how to testing fire alram system without casuing the problem that occupants may evacuate building as a result. (also do such tests make any problem when a real fire alarm activated by fire / to be thought as test by occupants)?
2- What about evacuation plan & drills?
Thanks in advance
Amjad

Hi Amjad, how about...
Tell your people a test of the system is necessary on 'x' day at 'x' time for the following reasons:
1. They need to know what it sounds like.
2. Your staff need to know what it sounds like - get as many in as possible so you don't have to keep distressing your people.
3. You need to know your system works.
4. You need to identify what client groups need extra support; less mobile, impaired vision/hearing, and assess the necessaries...
I'm not suggesting a full evacuation of the building but you need to know how to arrange one. That said, you could evacuate horizontally as a test so your people don't have to go outside...
What do others think?
Regards

Maybe I'm being simplistic but ...
1. Write to them all and tell them about the alarm testing arrangements. Also put a notice up by the alarm panel.
2. Put up a fire action notice.
