Posted By Mike Blease Could anyone offer any advice regarding the vaccination of forestry workers against Lmye disease. I understand there was a vaccine withdrawn from the market in 2002 and I am unsure what the current situation is. I have already identified a range of preventative measures which we are implementing, I would prefer to go down this route rather than vaccinate against a disease which I understand to be quite rare. Any advice or opinions would be gratefully recieved. Mike

Posted By Mike Blease Thanks for that Bill, there is a lot of information on this topic on the net. I am particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has gone down the vaccination route or decided against it, and the reasons why. Thanks, Mike

Posted By RP As far I am aware there is no vaccination for this. Treatment is antibiotics. The actual risk of contracting it in this country is very remote...
