Posted By Lorna Barrett Hello all, I just wanted to ask a question please? i have a client who cuts PVC window frames using specialised cutting equipment. While on site and talking with Management / employees none of the employees were wearing respiratory protection. I wanted to ask am I right in saying that cutting PVC window frames creates crystalline silica dust? Many thanks Lorna

Posted By Lorna Barrett Hiya Gham They only cut the frames, all glass arrives on site to correct measurement. They get in lengths of PVC framing and lead and make frames to suit the glass..

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Lorna I've not (yet) encountered PVC containing silica; where did you find the information? Can you get an MSDS for the grade of PVC used by your client? Paul

Posted By Lorna Barrett Hiya Paul This client is a very very small operator and literally has nothing in place at the moment. He doesnt know what grade of PVC he uses and is in the process of finding out for me.
