Posted By andymak I have an urgent need to undertake Fire RA training, ideally this needs to be a two day course certified by the IFE. I have been waiting for some time for one course provider to give dates, and it now looks like the back end of November at the earliest. I have approached our local fire and Rescue but they only do a one day course that is not accredited, and do not have another one planned until December. Unfortunately myself and a colleague need to get on a course sooner than this. Does anyone have any ideas of who runs such a course? Ideally the location will be northern Home Counties or London.

Posted By andymak From the gumph I have the course carries the seal of approval from the IFE, and as one of it's objectives trains you so that after completing a number of fire RA's you can apply for membership of the Fire Safety Risk Assessors register. Sorry the course is approved, not accredited.... It's been one of THOSE days!

Posted By Ashley Wood Colin Todd & associates. they run a 3 & 5 day course in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Fire Panel. I went over to NI as at the time these were the only IFE courses that would enable you to considered for 'life safety assessor'.

Posted By shaun mckeever andy I am running a two day course in November for our Local Authority. We ran the course for them earlier this month and they liked it so much they are coming again! I beleive there is one space left(I'll need to check). It is in the area you are talking about (Cambs) but it is not an accredited course because we have only just started running it but we will be seeking accreditation. However if you want reassurances I used to teach the fire safety element of the NEBOSH Dip II at West Anglia Training Association, I am an ex-fire officer for Westminster and I have an honours degree in fire engineering. Assuming there is a space available then let me know if you are interested.

Posted By andymak Thanks for the offer of a space of your course, it is much appreciated, however I need two spaces as a colleague has also been instructed to undertake the training as they will be undertaking the RA's on the buildings I will be missing out.

Posted By Barry Cooper I have just completed a 5 day course run by the Lancashire Fire and Rescue, at Washington Hall, Chorley and it was excellent. They do a 2 day course, but one of the attendees on the 5 day course had attended the 2 day, and decided she needed more information so decided to attend the 5 day. There is a practical assessment and an exam at the end of it. There was plenty of practical and theory. Again an excellent course, and provided by the people who will be enforcing the RRFO The training centre has applied for acceditation from the IFE. Barry
