Hi
Does anyone have a note of the requirements for companies to have first aid trained employees?
It is to find out the numbers of staff that should be first aid trained in low/ medium/ high risk places.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Natasha

Hse guidance suggests 1 first aider per 50 employees but it is up to you to do a needs assessment and determine your own numbers, taking into account shift work and holiday cover etc.

Here we go again with wiseguys that concentrate on the negative on these forums.
Admittedly it was a simple enough question, however thankfully someone on the forum was good enough to give the simple enough answer, as opposed to Vernon who seems to be fairly consistent in his patronising responses!!
If you don't have anything positive to say when responding to a thread, then why bother??

Agreed, there seems to be one person who just seems to stir up negative responses or posts issues that have little to do with actual Health and Safety discussion.
It's not so bad if you've been on the site for a bit but if you are new and get silly responses to posts or sharp negativity it may turn new users away.
I think the Mods have to seriously look at the issue. No doubt I'm guessing though we are playing his little game by responding.
NatashaL please be aware we are not all ogres, 99.9% of us are here to try and help and learn at the same time.

Vern,
You are becoming a bit of a pain! For a MD you have a lot of time on your hands.
We welcome all levels of competence here, no question too simple for a polite helpful response.

I totally agree. Negative responses are bad for the forum and should not be tolerated. However, honest responses like my own should be allowed on the forum so users can see both sides of the coin.

Come on Vernon. It's a Safety Forum, for ALL people to obtain advice for all types of situations, from all levels. You can't presume that Natasha is in a position where she should have known the regs.
Your response is bound to draw attention from other users. If anyone take any exception to me posting this, including Vernon. I apologise.
Let keep the forum free of bickering.
