Posted By Barry Cooper John I have an inspection by the Fire and rescue on Tuesday 14th November. This is in response to the Fire Safety Order. I will let you know how we get on. Barry

Posted By Tomek Sladden Hi John, as a fire service employee I can advise you that your authority will be looking at ensuring that there are no serious breeches of fire safety referring to the new Order. However, as the Regs are still very young the authority will be looking to give you valuable and specific/technical advice on all aspects of fire safety that he/she feels you may need to ensure that you comply with the new order. Don't forget that we are there to help you not to cause you problems and that this would be an ideal opportunity to gain some valuable guidnnce on all aspects of the RRFSO and your workplace fire safety standards. If the authority deems that in his/her opinion that you have a serious breech of yor duty and that an imminent danger is present then they still have the power to issue prohibition notices. I hope that this relaxes you a bit. Don't worry if you are concerned enough to enquire on the forum about this issue then I am sure that you standards are acceptable. If you need to contact me for a more in depth discussion please feel free to contact me via my email. Good luck let me know. Tom.

Posted By AJM Yes we have already had a visit on the 10th October but being a timber manufacturer I guess we are high hazard. I got the distinct impression they had the power to do what ever they wanted regarding prohibition notices etc, but were more guiding. They seemed very pleased with what I had put in place and there was no problem, but one thing that did give me a wry smile was when they called the chief executive in and said. "you see this fire risk assessment your safety manager has here, well that is not his its yours" and they slid it over the table to him. Nice touch i thought. Alan
