Anyone got any advice in a DSE related aspect for someone with Glaucoma?
Flat screen monitors, larger type fonts, etc.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Phillipe,
Colleagues with glaucoma will often have knowledge about the condition, and how it affects them, which will be very valuable to any assessment of their needs. However, they may feel reticent about sharing this as the workplace is not always the accommodating place it could be, and some feel that they'd rather not show themselves as "weak" by disclosing a disability.
That said, glaucoma information can be found on the web, and especially at the Moorfields Eye Hospital site (http://www.moorfields.nhs.uk/Eyehealth/Commoneyeconditions/Glaucoma/Furtherinformation).
I think the best thing is to speak to the individuals concerned about their treatment plans and make sure to ask them to stay in touch with you after their check-ups, passing on any information their treatment providers consider appropriate.
In the organisation I work for, we use photographs to evidence postural assessments and make these pictures available to colleagues so that external treatment suppliers can have an overview of their working environment. This can then better inform them about day-to-day requirements, and us about aids to treatment.
Hope this helps
Angela

Thanks for that information. Thankfully the workplace I am referring to is one where people can openly (in a confidential manner) bring this to the attention of the their Line Manager and pass it on to myself. I have arranged to pop over later this afternoon to see the person concerned and naturally will follow any advice given by the Opthamologist.
Much appreciated
