Hi All,
Can anyone help me? i need to find out what type & how many toilets i am legally required to have in an A1 building. The premises are to be used for a coffee, sandwich bar. If anyone with knowledge of the building regs could help me out it would be much appreciated.
Kind regards Paul

sorry, but it depends on how many employees are expected to be in the building.
Not sure, but I think that up to ten then one toilet is ok. Above that then you need M and F toilets.
For, say, 500 employees in the same building than you will obviously need a few more. If you can give more info I can look up a table.
Don't forget the disabled.

I am looking at a max of 5 employees, but it will probably be closer to 3, thanks for the early feedback.

for those numbers one toilet (which can be locked when in use) should be sufficent as the workplace regs state 1 toilet for up to 6 people.

If its a coffee/sandwich bar wont you need toilets for the customers? If you have a male and female toilet for them the 3 staff can use them also, you wouldnt need separate ones.
Or am I missing the point here? Can you clarify A1 for me, I'm either thinking its A1 as in a cracking building or its a building on the A1.
Early rise with little sleep so still feeling groggy sorry.

A1 is the category of building ie a small shop/premises. Sorry if i did not make myself clear, but the toilets are to be used by customers/staff. I was unsure as to what if any disabled facilities were required. Can i have 1 gents and use a disabled as a ladies also?
