Posted By Stephen Mitchell Does anyone know if there is a national average level for lead in blood and if so what it is. I have found details of figures for America, but cannot find any stats for the UK. The reason I ask is that it would be nice to have something to compare samples from our health surveillance against (which I would like to point out are all well below any action levels provided in the Control of Lead at Work ACOP L132). Cheers in advance Stephen Mitchell

Posted By Stephen Mitchell Chris For my own idol curosity it would be nice to see where the group of workers who underwent health surveillance are in relation to a national average. Thanks for your reply anyway. Stephen Mitchell

Posted By peter gotch Hi Stephen There are comparable few workers subject to medical surveillance in the U.K. though all the evidence would indicate that far more SHOULD be. Regards, Peter

Posted By Mike Ask your UKAS accredited lab service provider. Although they may not be accredited for opinions and interpretations they should be able to give you the general information you require.
