Posted By Robert Hayes Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out about the certifications necessary to work on refrigerant gas systems.
A colleague asked me the question today as he had heard that you need a certification just to work near a refrigerant system (where there would be a risk of accidental release) and the associated course run for 10 days.

The Ozone Depleting Substances (Qualifications) Regulations 2006 came into force on 10th June 2006. The regulations assign levels of competency to the handling of ozone depleting substances and require handlers to attain the relevant qualifications by 9th April 2007.
