Posted By Anders Molko Ive been asked to draft up some SOPS, SIs for various operations across our plant, incl. good housekeeping, working at height, manual handling etc.
I have them done know but would like a look at some other peoples to ensure they are sufficent. DOes anyone have any links to some online?

The only test to tell if they are sufficient is a court of law............ However the best way for you to determine that you have covered everything, is to actually walk through each one with an experienced member of staff that ACTUALLY carries out the task in question. You must be willing to make changes requested / identified by those that carry out the task in question, provided that the change is a safer option. You need to ensure that if any equipment identified for use is used and by trained members of staff.

Posted By Alan Nicholls Hi Anders Darren has just about covered all the angles, but don't forget Use of Chemicals and PPE (If used.) I have always used a Task Analysis/Job Safety Analysis to ensure all areas are covered when doing mine. That way you cover yourself with ergonomics, manual handling etc.
Good luck Alan N
