Posted By Merv Newman In view of the current thread on improving our image, the following link is quite interesting. http://www.timesonline.c...0,,21131-2474714,00.htmlInstead of conkers bonkers it seems that the Aussies have gone "melon-hat mad" and why confiscate a Vegemite sarnie ? They ain't that toxic (don't tell me they are 'cos I love marmite) Any comments from our antipodean colleagues ? Merv And while the spell checker recognises "vegemite" it doesn't like "marmite" Is there a Vegan in the house ?

Posted By J Knight Fascinating; first of all though its no surprise to see the Times having a go at Ozzie H&S since the Times is owned by a certain ex-Australian who makes no secret of his anti regulatory agenda. It's also interesting that the journo in the Times blames the Daily Mail for at least some of the stifling bureaucracy, when we all know that the Mail is the outspoken champion of traditional English freedoms.
I get a bit fed up with middle-class wingers in general though, not just taking a pop at H&S but moaning about their apparently dreadful oppressed lives ad-infinitum while slurping their caramellocinos in posh cafes and trotting off to their second home in Tuscany at the drop of a visa card. They really don't know they're born, and to compare over-zealous H&S with the deliberate judicial torture and murder that other people have to put up with is just silly.
Its just spoiled sixth-form nonsense,
John
