Posted By npisa Has anyone out there got any information on suspended cradles, I have an operation where we are putting three ops in a suspended cradle inside a building and need information on the set up and use. Any information would be appreciated.

Posted By Robert K Lewis There are some very experienced people already in your organisation with this expertise and I think that beyond the competence assessment of the installation company and the installer there is very little that can be given at short notice on this equipment.
Remember that they fall, excuse the pun, under LOLER so all the requirements on installation, testing, management, maintenance and training will apply.

Posted By Salus Hi Nigel, how did you get this job?
Does the client know you do not know what you are doing?
If you do not know how to use or set up the equipment you should not be using it.
apart from that, make sure you have adequate insurance/ apply WAH hierarchy / carry out a risk assessment/apply safe working practises when working near the public or others/have your op's trained on the use and misuse of the equipment/as RKL on LOLER /enclose your work area / employ good supervision / carry out an inspection before work commences to see you have everything/ emergency, rescue procedures if something goes wrong with the equipment / give everyone contact numbers from client to yourself, the local A & E dept;site security, your supervisor and op's.that should keep you going for now, next time give yourself adequate time to plan the work.
