Posted By Crim Please don't take this too personally but I though electricians were supposed to be competent? What are you doing re-wiring a club if you don't know the regulations?

Posted By John D Crosby Hi Harry If this is a licensed club then the Licensing authority will have laid down what is required so suggest you contact the local fire safety team who should be able to help as they will have made the recommendations or point you in the right direction. If you draw a blank then consider contacting Building Control at the local council who may have been involved. If there is no license and it is not controlled under any specific legislation then I would suggest you use maintained fittings as they can then be used as part of the lighting scheme. Take care John C

Posted By rjhills I tend to agree with the previous post. If you take on this work, (you may being doing a cash strapped organisation a good turn), if you are not careful, the completed work could be condemned and be decreed to be ripped out. Or,if completed could be (hopefully not), involved in a real life fire, and fail to pass muster. Believe me, the fire brigade may not be keen to give advice as they used to but they are as keen as mustard after a fire. (Inspection wise). Can you guess who would be the one facing their wrath yet???? My advice (like the previous post), would be to AT LEAST, get advice from competent organisation before proceeding any further!
