Posted By mark limon Ive just found out my local college is running the course starting in January . Its day release over 17 days and costs including the exam £650 which seems cheap. It may well be death by powerpoint but Im seriously considering it. I already hold the GC Can anyone who has done the construction course as well as the GC tell me how much the courses mirror each other. My problem is the shifts I work mean I will miss at least a 3 classes so Im hoping that the knowledge I already have will mean that catching up will be easier than if I hadnt done the GC.Any opinions would be welcome I wonder how many CPD points I would be entitled to for this???. If you are reading this tonight, why arent you out having fun,me,Im getting into the bath in 5 minutes and then off out to study the effects of large amounts of lager on the human body, have a nice weekend :-), Mark

Posted By Jonathan Sandler CMIOSH It would be best to go through the adverts in the SHP as your question might promt people to advertise which they can not do. The course sounds cheap, but their overheads are low so it does sound a good price. Find out what their pass rate is. Regards

Posted By JPK I have also completed the GC and i have been told by the provider that it will not be necessary to re-complete the whole sylabus for that reason... try the provider and let them know you have already done the GC

Posted By mark limon JPK,I contacted Nebosh direct and they said that probably next year a new Construction "conversion course" where only part of the exam will need to be taken may come out,but it needs to be accredited first. I know that I will already have covered part of the course but Im happy to do it again as a refresher because I will have to take all parts of the exam.I wasnt going to do the construction cert on cost grounds(self funded) but at this price Ive changed my mind. Posted By JPK The official conversion course yes! However the organisation who provided the NEBOSH Gen would be able to distinguish the information you require for the construction with the useful refresher stuff. Good luck
