Hi !
you might be able to find the information in BS5973 or if not give the NASC a ring because they're very helpful you know.

The 1981 Standard provides the conditions for selection and testing of timber for the purpose of being a scaffold board.
1. Grade A timber - Virtually knot free and free from other timber defects, shakes, star shakes, cupping, etc.
2. Stress graded for strength and durability.
3. Nominal thickness, ie 38mm, etc.
Apparently, only 30% of scaffold boards brought are to the BS Standard.
