I am in the process of re-writing our Working @ Height policy for an animation company.

I am finding a bit of a grey area about what we legally need for our studio staff to rig scaffolding in the studio.

I have arranged for 2 staff to take their Scaffold inspection certificate as they are the most experienced scaffolders.

As our work is not in construction but most scaffolding advice is geared towards construction it is a little confusing.

Any advice would be most welcome

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

I work in a concert venue, I also meet regularly with others that work in the entertainment and broadcasting industry, theatres, tv studios etc.

I would suggest you check out the HSE entertainment information sheets, specifically ETIS6 if you haven't already, when it comes to scaffolding though they do refer you to HSG150 or the construction info sheets, specifically CIS10.

Our procedural arrangements fit around such guidance.

Hope this helps.
