Hi all,
Having requested a MSDS from a company on the continent, I have been sent through an inadequate document with little information on it.
It does not comply with the CHIP Regs and I am going to have to explain the 16 sections required etc.
Presumably there will be an EU directive which enforces this on the continent - Can anybody tell me what this is?
Many Thanks,
Scott

Among others the Council Directive 67/548/EEC, the current directive relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances applies.
However, if the material is not classified as "Hazardous" this does not apply.

Thanks Gary,
I have also come across the European Commission Directive 2004/73/2004.
Much appreciated

I agree about the European Directive, however under our CHIP Regs it is the responsibility of the supplier to provide the safety data sheet.
The supplier includes the person importing it into the UK.
So the question is, who has imported it into the UK?

Hi Martyn,
Our case is a complicated one but in a nutshell - our supplier has imported the product into the UK and is supplying us via an acting third party. Legally I suppose it is the third parties responsibility but they are basically working for our supplier.
Many Thanks,
Scott
