Hyperdermic Needles - Training For Potential Handlers

Good Morning All,
I have recently taken up the post that I am currently in and keep opening up a can of worms constantly.
One of these cans that I have recently opened is with our operatives and the potential to come into contact with hyperdermic needles.
A little bit of background - we are a construction come maintenace and refurbishment company we have a lot of dealings with tenants in properties for housing authorities and occassionally our workers come into contact with needles. I have past experience in this issue from when I used to carry out a security and safety consultant role in a place where heroin addiction was high.
I am looking for any training presentations that nice people would like to share with me, to save me re-inventing the wheel so to speak. I am starting to put together a training package together on this subject but any further material would be great.
Regards and A Merry Xmas!

I've also come across this issue karel,
however the training I provided was quite simple; Take the sharps box to where the needle is located and not the other way round.
I suppose you'd need to concentrate on where needles can be hidden, used to get lots down the back seats of buses, and behind kitchen cupboards.

Karel
There is an organisation that specialises in providing training for just the sort of situation that you mention.
If you contact me direct (chris.packham@enviroderm.co.uk or 01386 832 311) I can give you a contact point.
Regards
Chris
