Posted By Baskaran Kumarasamy Hi all,
Happy New Year.
As you may be aware that Fire Certificate has been revoked by the recent regulations and Individual premises needs to do their own risk assessments.
I wonder, if any one could forward me the sample copies of fire risk assessments/ templates or any useful guidelines. I am just beginner in this area and trying to do Fire Risk Assessment first time.
Thanks,
Regards,
Baskey

Posted By Andrew Wilson Baskaran,
have a look on any of the local Fire Authority web-sites and many of them have a fire risk assessment including guidance that could be used, which cover all aspect for the assessment.

Posted By Pete48 Baskaran, this question has been asked many times on this forum over the past few months so that may be why you have not had many replies. You could use the search button at the right hand side of this page to search the forum and there you will find those people who have offered examples before. OR If you want to understand a little more and decide how much of this work you can do yourself and how much you may need help with then you can try this website. http://www.communities.gov.uk/index.asp?id=1162101This is a UK government site where you can download official guidance notes to help you gain a better understanding of what is required and how to get it completed. The link takes you to the page on fire safety. Hope this helps

Posted By Robert smith Good morning i am a Health and Safety Advisor for the Fire Service, and very good source of information produced by the fire service is a document titled "keep your business in business", it contains all of the information plus the blank forms you will need to complete a fire risk assessment. It is available free certainly in the Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcestershire and West Midlands Fire Service.

Posted By shaun mckeever Baskaran you should also be familiar with the new building regulations which come into force in April. You can download the new documents from here - http://www.planningporta...s/en/4000000000084.html.If you are intending to conduct fire risk assessments you should also be familiar with BS7974 and accompanying PD 7974 series. These are for more technical assessments or in areas where you may want to deviate from the building regulations

The Northern Ireland branch of IOSH ran a seminar in October on FRA with a presentation by the NI Fire Brigade. If you have access, go to the IOSH branches section of this website, select NI Branch and select minutes of October Meeting. These minutes contain a summary of the PPT of that seminar,
