Hi All,

I am looking for some form of exterior lighting for our vans. We have employees who carry out call out works throughout the night inc boarding up of windows, plumbing, electrical issues etc. The problem I am having is that our employees are complaining (rightly so!) that they cannot see what they are doing and need some form of lighting in the van.

I am also looking at rechargeable lighting that they can hang wihtin van and carry onto site/work area as well using a 12v - 230v invertor to aid charging within the vehicle.

As anybody came across this problem before and found a solution?

Regards
KS

In the early seventies I recollect a local TV aerial fitting firm having a spotlight fitted to the roofrack of every van they owned for this very purpose. They worked in a fairly tightly defined area, you may need more than one. Powerful spotlights of this sort used to be popular with rally car drivers. I don't know what the situation is today. Theft was not the problem is is now, they may be an attactive item to steal or merely to vandalise, but if this helps, great!

Hi Karel
If locations are remote not in built up areas you could consider a small generator to supply 12volts to 230volts.My experience for mechanical vehicle breakdown, charges batteries and provides lots of light, spot light or two.
A well known DIY store is currently selling a very compact one for under £40 each. Try searching (BnQ) Although if you have loads of vehicles this may not be the best or cheapest fix. Waterboard and Power companies do this.
