Posted By Karel Simpson Hi All (again!)
I have been stumped today, one of our operatives has asked if he can have a shower sock and if I could locate a supplier for him.
This is to reduce the risk of contraction of legionnaires disease. The idea is that on properties that have been empty when working on the shower you place this over the shower head and it stops any mist forming taking the water straight to the waste.
Has anybody else heard of these, I cannot seem to locate anything through web searches etc.

Posted By Max Bancroft One of the persons who samples our premises for legionella told my maintenance colleague a while ago that, when he goes on holiday, he takes a supply of plastic shopping bags. He runs the shower in his hotel bedroom into one before using the shower for the first time.
Obviously a polybag without holes!

Posted By John Lewis Used to use a length of bifurcated clear hose when testing emergency showers. This is the stuff that is about 4" diameter with a coiled wire inside it to maintain its shape. We used to keep them on the shower head and just pull them down to test the shower. Water straight to drain without any embarassing wet patches on trousers and more importantly no water mist.
