Posted By Dean Cross Happy new year to you all. I have recently started a new post in a higher education institute. In the research areas about a half of all reported accidents are a result of sharps injuries - needles/scalpels/razors etc. (of which I'm sure many more go unreported) I'm am trying to start a campaign to raise awareness about safe usage and disposal of such items and substitution for safer alternatives - short training presentations and posters etc. I was wonder if anyone has a similar problem and has already put together a presentation that they wouldn't mind sharing. Cheers Dean

Posted By jeffrey david smith I would suggest getting in touch with your local hospital and/or medical centre. They will have much more information as they deal with this on a daily basis. Good hunting.

Posted By Mike Miller My brother-in-law is a radiographer in the NHS. Given his type of work he is nowhere near sharpes in the controlled room where he does his stuff. However he has been pricked 4 times last year through persons putting things in the wrong bins. I hope you do well in your study and go on to improve what must be a difficult area to manage 'human behaviour' Its sods law that despite all the best intentions and systems in place some one will always put something where it aught not to be. Regards Mike
