Posted By Mel S I was wondering if anyone knew, with regards to the transportation and security services of any PPE they can wear to protect them. I have done some research and it looks like the PPE provided only gives protection against knife attacks OR gun shots - is this correct?
I have also been told that they are unable to drive in the PPE; and it is extremly difficult to change into them in a van / car; can anyone help me on this - what do the police use / security companies use?
Thanks in advance
Mel

Posted By andrew morris Mel,
Our dog wardens have just been kitted out. Standard issue vests come in a variety of classes. the lowest only gives protection against blunt objects, upto the highest classes. I am unsure of the specific classifications but recommend you speak to a couple of manufacturers. Our dog wardens and coppers are often fitted for their vests as standard vests can get in the way of normal activities, never mind driving.
Hope it helps a little!
