After reading many posts and requests for presentations, documents etc and reading this thread:

http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...um=1&thread=25082&page=1

I decided to create a Yahoo Group for all of us to share information with each other. The group is for members only; members can create and edit pages, upload files, post messages and invite new members.

No one can view this information without first becoming a member.

The url address is: http://finance.groups.ya...om/group/hseinformation/

Sharon,

Thanks for trying but I'm afraid I got lost in the joining process. I'm not too bad on the PC normally but this one beat me.

Sharon,

thanks for the initiative.

I started to log in then got to the "conditions of use" (about 10 pages) then found "conditions of use for groups" and then "conditions of use for monitors"

Then I started to pine for the IOSH Allowable Use Guidelines (so simple and clear) then dinner was called so I logged off.

If I send you an e-mail, will you send me an invite ?

You might note that copyright for anything posted will belong to Yahoo. Or at least they reserve the right to use the material in any way they like.

Sharon,

Could YOU send ME an e-mail please

Hi Sharon,

Joining was easy, but finding the Group on Yahoo isn't. Telling me 'no memberships were found' when I do a search.

Any help would be appreciated...

Alan

Just been hit by 7 emails with pointless polls. Is this the sign of things to come? If so, I'm out.

David,

you need to set up your Edit Membership information - page down to Step 2 and make sure Web Only is clicked (Don't get notified of the latest happenings. Read messages only on the web.)

This will apply to everyone who does not want to receive group messages as they are posted.

If you're not registered with yahoo, you'll not get in with the url.
You need to register first.
You need to set the group up so that ALL messages need to be approved or you'll get "bombed" by forum spam.
that's unless you don't mind being informeds of the latest price for viagra, penicillin etc

If you follow this process you will not have any spam problems:

you need to set up your Edit Membership information - page down to Step 2 and make sure Web Only is clicked (Don't get notified of the latest happenings. Read messages only on the web.)

This will apply to everyone who does not want to receive group messages as they are posted.
