I am looking for anything that shows the hand signals to be used by a banks man when directing the crane driver.

I would like to adopt these for use with our FLT operators as we have an issue with voice communication on one particular operation.

Anything that could be used as an internal training aid would be useful

Regards

Ken,

It's in most parts of BS7121 (and probably many other places).

Have a look in the safety signs & signals regs.

Some useful information there too!

You can find them in Safe Start CITB Constuction Skills Safety Handbook GE 707, ISBN 1-85751-109-3 about £8

BS7121 is the standard that is used offshore, it is missing one which is commonly used which is to hold a hand above the head and clench and unclench the fist which means to gently take the strain of the load, also some people will raise both hands just above the head and rub them together to do this. But if its just for the forklift drivers then BS7271 will do, i have emailed you them.
