Posted By santhosh vasudev We want to purchase flame retardant tarps for wind protection during welding at heights. Is there any specification for these materials? What standard shall they adhere to? What all points shall we consider before buying it. The one we used quite recently has been burning when hot sparks/spatters fell on them from welding/grinding activities. So one requirement is not to allow flame propagation (temp. range in the area may be around 300 to 500 degrees) Thanks in advance

old welders leathers [jackets / tops] or fire blankets may be best as general suppliers do not account for such actions on the average construction site
scour the web / use fire retardent sprays as an additional help [but not as your prime defence]
