We train our fire marshalls every year, which becomes very expensive when you have difficulty getting everyone together and end up having separate training sessions. My question is, I would like to do this myself in-house, what do I need to do and where can I get the relevant training to do this - I am a trained fire marshall myself and also a Nat Cert Holder, completing the Diploma course (well hopefully after results in April).

Hi why are you training your fire marhsalls every year. You only have to do it every 3.

You could do the Nebosh Fire Certficate course.
But better still devise your own course and input the content you require. There are good training videos out there. I personally use Safety Media, you can also purchase extinguishers for £50-80 speak to a local provider and arrange a deal for service and refilling. The you can purchase a small simulator for training purposes. There rest you put on powerpoint make some handout our binders and Bob's your uncle as they say. All you need is a qualified person to deliver it.

One thing don't forget you insurance incase anything goes wrong and once you start playing with fire it comes with a premium

Angela,

I asked a similar question recently and received some good advice. Try the search facility, enter fire warden training in the past 6 months and "hey presto" there is probably all the info you need.

I will be formulating a course myself in the near future and would be prepared to swap ideas if you email me direct?

Thanks for the advice above. Crim I will do as you say and have a look at the previous info, and will more than likely be in touch.

Robert - we train them each year as the certificates we have run out annually, well those from the Fire Training UK do anyway. However, I do think annually is a good idea as things are soon forgotten when not used.

Again many thanks for the advice.
