The new CDM 2007 regulations have now been signed by the Minister.
No doubt over the coming months the discussion forum will be littered the various interpretations of the regs and ACOP in some detail. Of course what must not be forgotten is that the Construction Regulations will be part of CDM 2007. Hopefully copies of the document will soon be available from HSE Books. Watch this space.

Thanks JEB

I suspect your right. This is going to be a highly debated subject in the next couple of months.

Being relatively new to it all, I am just learning the implications and hopefully the improvements it will bring.

One thing for sure, it ain't all that clear cut and just because I have safety qualifications, does not make me an ideal for the job.

I will however not be put off by the implications, fears and pessimistic views. Its here and here to stay,

I got the Nebosh Dips covered but now it is APS and experience to do (34 now = 60 I will be competent yipee). (Fools and Angels spring to mind)

In my own case, I feel I would much rather a team based role as some areas are just best handled better by people with a design and Management backgrounds, others parts a Safety Professional.

I have been trying to learn this type of work for the past 6 months and haven't even scratched the surface but do feel there may be improvements to the industry.

Ah well back to the presentations

Jason
