We manage student accommodation in the private sector for universities nationally. Our complexes vary in size from 140 bed spaces to 900 plus, some of these have common rooms and laundry facilities on site. Our dilema is defining whether these areas will fall under this smoking ban. All our accommodation is run under a tenancy agreement scheme (domestic). The vast majority of these flats have shared kitchen areas. Any comments are gratefully accepted.

consult an expert - but as I know it all communal areas are to be smoking free, only private individual *bedrooms & #sitting rooms are in the *exempt/#grey areas

some bedroom sharing arrangements may have to be re arranged & dorm bedrooms are to be smoke free too
