Hi, we have just implemented a noise consevation programme and some personnel now need to wear hearing protection. All has gone well with the exception of one person who has a problem with dizzy spells shortly after covering or inserting with ear plugs. Occupational health has cofirmed his condition and we now have to make a decision to remove the person from the noise zone. He likes his job and would prefer to stay and we would like to keep him on the job. He said his GP has told him that there is hearing protection available which would help but that was the extent of detail. Can anyone help?

The GP is right - there are ear defenders now on the market that can be used in almost any type of situation incl areas where you need to speak and hear human speech ! All I can say is get together with a good supplier. Try ARCO and if none available then google it !

John,
try www.noisebreakers.co.uk
These are plugs that are moulded to the shape of the wearers ear and allow some sounds through but block the higher level noise (depending on the levels encountered) and we have had no complaints from our wearers so far.
Hope this helps
Kind Regards
