has anyone produced a lone working policy for a construction company. We don't encourage lone working and would pick this up in risk assessment but have been asked if we have an actual policy. Would appreciate a look at an example to see if I can tailor it to suit our needs.
Many thanks in advance

Hi Homer
So long as it's not going to be interpreted by Monty Burns I think I may be able to help, my email should be showing so if you'd like to drop me a line i'll email it on.
I have to say that it is more of a written procedure as opposed to a policy but you may find it helpful.
Regards
Bob

Homer,
As you say you don't encourage lone working why go into details for lone working procedures/policy when a simple statement will suffice.
Example: It is (company name) policy that lone working is not permitted on any of our premises.
It is the responsibility of....... to ensure that this policy is adhered with.

Ted

Sorry Homer,
also include after premises: our employees are not permitted to carry out lone working activities.
I should read more carefully.

Ted
