I have a client in the music industry that would like me to advise them on H&S issues and am coming across a whole raft of interesting subjects. Pat testing a stage sound system, substance abuse, fans - as in people etc.
Has anyone out there been involved in a similar area and wouldn't mind bouncing a few ideas about.

PI,
where do you want to start???
When you say 'a client' on what basis, band/solo, manager/management company, agent/agency, tour manager, touring company, bought in or bands own roadies, etc etc....
if its a two bit, tranny and a guitar outfit then..'its not exactly rock n roll is it' is about as far as you'll get.
Big outfits, well then thats a whole new ball game and lots of conflicts....I think someone posted something similar about 6-12 mths ago, and on a far bigger base than I had experienced.

Have for some time been supporting a son gradually make headway as a singer/songwriter/playwright, I've learned a little about this area of H & S.
Amongst musicians, RSI is recognised as a serious occupational hazard, but often late in the day by too many.

The HSE have some good free leaflets on a lot of these areas of music performance. Many were put together in conjunction with the BBC. Some deal with noise and some with the basic requirements for electrical testing. Give them a call.
Cheers
