Posted By Richard Beevers I'm sure this will be an easy question for someone..... If you supply second hand equipment, does it have to meet all the EHSRs? I think it does, my commercial manager disagrees, and whilst reading the Supply Machinery (Safety) regulations I fell asleep. Any ideas? Al.

Posted By Raymond Rapp By EHSRs I take to mean the Essential Health and Safety Requirements. Having just read the relevant guidance it is my unqualified opinion that second-hand machinery does need to meet the EHSRs. There is no exemption that I know of for second-hand machinery under any statutory legislation, however, the term SFAIRP would no doubt apply to older work equipment. If I am wrong then I expect to be corrected... Ray
