Posted By Neil Cormack I am looking for ideas for a 1/2 day Manual Handling Course that I am delivering.
I am trying to put in some short tasks or exercises to make it more interesting for the candidates.
Any ideas gratefully accepted.
Cheers
Neil

Posted By Dan dan just relate the training to the industry you are in, and of course your candidates. you will maintain interest as they can relate to teh training then

Posted By The toecap I remeber doing a course in the Army in the 80's. Thats 1980's. And at the end the instructor dropped a pencil on the floor and asked one of the students to pick it up. He then commented on how this was done. Simple but effective to see if any body had listened to what had been said.

Posted By polo Always relate the practical task to the job they will actually be doing. We operate a picking operation in a large Warehouse, so what we did was to re-create a couple of actual picking cells and put the same products in that they would actually be working with. We then involved them in actually doing the task, not just watching someone doing it, and get the others to comment on what they did and if they spotted any faults or if they could propose a better method. Using shop floor trainers also worked better than getting in "Trainers" that had no idea how the job was actually done.
