Posted By RobAnybody Hi oneill, A few quick pointers for racking: Racks need to be tied to each other or/and to a solid structure such as a wall. Always know the maximum load the rack is capable of taking & never overload. Have a rack end plate made up with the rack load bearing details, inspection dates, manufacturer details & H&S dept details on. Carry out regular eyeball inspections & get them signed. Follow manufacturer inspection routines closely. Use corner protectors if there is a possibility of collisions with pallet trucks etc. Stack the heaviest items at the bottom & the lightest at the top. Be aware of the types of materials you are stacking. They may have retsrictions on how they are stacked. Ensure items that may react with each other are segregated. Use fixed ladders where possible or purpose made ladders/platforms where not. NEVER allow persons to climb rack directly, even if they are freeclimbers or monkeys! I hope this helps. Rob
