Posted By S R I work for a company that supplies various products including cleaning products, aerosols, etc. to our customers nationwide. The products are packed into cardboard boxes that may contain a mixture of products that could be classified as 'hazardous' e.g. flammable, irritant, etc.
We apply the relevant UN label to the outer packaging as required by the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regs (ADR), but my question is should we also be applying a hazard label i.e 'Irritant' on the outer packaging if it contains products such as bleach, etc?
I have trawled through the CHIP Regs, ADR, and the Approved Supply List, and I'm still none the wiser.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Simon.

Posted By Kate Graham I think the reason you haven't found that requirement in the regs is that it doesn't exist. In my experience of buying chemicals the labels on the inner packages are not replicated on the outer packages and indeed it would be confusing to do so. Labelling for transport is different from labelling for use.

Posted By Ian G Hutchings Hi
If you haven't already I would also check how REACH may affect your supply chain.
Cheers
