Hi All,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase some detachable steel toe caps that we can issue to sight visitors to put over there own shoes? The ones I have found are from a company in the USA I am trying to find somewhere nearer to home.

Thanks in advance Nick.

We used to call them "donkey clogs"

Don't know a source but it is probably better to define "visitor alleys" where safety shoes are not required.

Suitable barriers of course.

N.I. and Gareth.

Are you trying to protect just the toes or the upper part of the foot. If the latter, not sure that this product will do what you want to achieve.

Thanks Peter,

The toes are the main protection factor in my application, I have ordered three pairs (Different sizes, 5-7/7-9/9-11) and I will be trying them out for practicality.
Aparently they are washable and easily stored, for the cost I cant seem any harm in trying them out.

Gareth

Hi Nick,

I have been using two pairs for the last two days they seem to be comfortable and I have had only good feedback, the toe colours are a bit bright though!! A bit of black insulation tape covers them over ok.

We nicknamed them "clown shoes". And they felt very odd wearing them over ordinary footwear. They make the front of your foot feel heavy, which I never notice with my safety footwear - my safety boots just feel like ordinary boots.

Hi Karen,

My application will be to use these shoes for visitors, and for new starters (It takes 24 hours to get a selected pair into us). I would not recoomend using these shoes on a full time bases, but when visitors who need to visit a manadatory safety shoe area are seen to be wearing these over shoes, it sends a message to all employees that the rules do apply to everyone!!

Regards
Gareth
