Amjad,

You should look at BS 3104:1970. This covers Specification for polyamide (nylon) mountaineering ropes. Unless you are talking about steel rope which would be a different standard.

If you need to know the BS number please state what the application is. General safety rope used for accessing heights, or a guide wire onto which personal will clip onto.

Regards
Dan

BS EN 892:1996, Mountaineering equipment — Dynamic mountaineering ropes — Safety requirements and test methods.
BS EN 1891:1998, Personal protective equipment for the prevention of falls from a height — Low stretch kernmantel ropes.
ISO 1140:1990, Ropes — Polyamide — Specification.
ISO 1141:1990, Ropes — Polyester — Specification.

(See BS 8437:2005, Code of practice for selection, use and maintenance of personal fall protection systems and equipment for use in the workplace)
