Posted By Davelfc I had a question yesterday with regards on of our qualified banks-man.
The chap in question has recently lost his license for drink related offence. The project team manager asked the question should this chap be allowed to continue with his normal duties as a banksman in the highway?
Not a point that I had considered nor come across, any ideas or information welcomed, I have my own views.
Regards Dave

Posted By Lee Mac Well Dave,
I don't really see how the two come into the same equation- he doesn't need his driving license to be a banksman so unless he has done something to make you question his standard of work I would not take away his duties on these grounds or if this employee became disgruntled you may find your company in a tribunal court.
Different matter if his drinking habits outside of work are affecting his work e.g. hungover, still drunk etc etc. But tred carefully unless you 100% certain mate.

Posted By Crim Hi Dave, I see your team is doing well, hope it's short lived!
The recent crane accident in Liverpool, (Edge Lane) resulted in a Banks man being killed.
With this in mind I would ensure your guy is totally aware of his duties at all times, if he is then the license issue is not an issue!
