Posted By mintw I wonder that those who are responsible in conducting routine inspection of fire equipment such as fire alarm system, fire extinguishers etc. have to gone through an extensive training course? Does a in-house training based on a fire equipment inspection procedure enough to cover it?

Posted By Steve Cartwright Fire Extinguisher Trades Association (FETA) run 4 day courses on maintaining fire extinguishers. At the end of the 4 days candidates have to do a practical exam and a theory exam for which you are allowed 2 hours to complete.
Not sure about fire alarm systems.

You can always ask for proof of qualifications/skills/courses their engineers have been on/got.
