Posted By Simon Rosser I wonder if anyone can help. If two cylinders (47kg each) are stored in a locked, ventilated but enclosed cabinet, is fencing required in addition to this security measure. Withdrawn guidance (CS4) implies that 1.8m high wire mesh fencing is required in addition to that around the storage area. If indeed fencing is required, does this override planning permission on the grounds of an H&S requirement. Looking forward to reading your responses. Regards Simon

Posted By peter gotch Hi Simon From “Small-scale use of LPG in cylinders” Chemical Sheet No 5 which you should be able to download from HSE website Cylinders not fixed in position For cylinders not fixed in position, you should: • keep all cylinders in a safe, well-ventilated place, preferably in the open air, and away from occupied buildings, boundaries and sources of ignition and of heat; • make sure the cylinders are properly secured and are kept upright.
