Woo Nearly Friday!!
Quick request as not had much luck on Google. We run a rather large warehouse, part of which is a hazardous area where we store large amounts of Aerosols (hairspray, deodorant etc) sprinkler systems, fire walls etc are all in place.
I'm looking at the Damage Management procedure, and rather than shutting the whole area down for one leaking aerosol can, I'm looking for some kind on container that the leaking can could be placed in and then taken out side. I need something which can be easily locked, air tight and has the ability to vent the gas once taken outside (with out opening the lid).
Does anyone currently have experience with this process or know of any such containers?
Thank you
Simon

I'm sure something like what you are after exists - but I can't remember where I saw/read about it.
Many years ago when I worked in the water industry we were looking for a similar device but instead we were looking to be able to place 1 tonne drums of chlorine in it - however for that size of device we would have had to have a bespoke pressure vessel. Obviously in our case we were also looking at a highly toxic gas so leaks were a big issue.
Question though - what is the risk you are trying to avoid? As I would guess a small leak is not likely to put anyone at more danger just carrying it outside than if they put it in one of these 'devices'.

Basically the site we operate on is classified as a COMAH site and we operate on our customers premises. So we are looking at it from all angles, with the thought being that due to the size of the warehouse, we don't want someone carrying a leaking aerosol through the warehouse to the safe area. (i know the possibility of an explosion is small, but it is still there).
Jon thank you for emailing me direct.
