Posted By shahram I use gas tester (direct reading equipments)for vessel containing oil .can I use this gas tester for petrol and assetlean gas vessel also to measures the level of LEL???is need special gas tester??? regards

Posted By Merv Newman Some Infra Red gas testers can be calibrated for different gasses/fumes. But you need to follow the manufacturer's calibration procedure. You can't just stick the wand into an oil tank and then into an acetylene atmosphere and expect to get decent readings. You are more likely to blow your foot off. Statistically speaking Merv Is that a joke that is likely to go wrong because of cultural/linguistic differences ?
